Narnia 4 and the Future of the Chronicles

Image
The next Narnia film is still in hold as stated above. There are many reasons why the next film is still in hold. One of the many reasons is this: The total worldwide box-office given by the last two films are very low compared to the first film. This g ives Walden Media and 20 th  Century Fox pictures to negotiate with The C.S. Lewis Estate whether if the production team will still produce more films and which book should be adapted next. In a report early this May, Douglas Gresham (stepson of C.S. Lewis, co-producer of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and Prince Caspian and one of the executive producers of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader) revealed the main problem why Narnia 4 is still in hold up to now is that, there is a seven-year moratorium on producing any Narnia films outside of Walden Media.

Narnia 4: In my own opinion

Image
It's been 2 years and 4 months since The Voyage of the Dawn Treader set sailed on the big-screen and in the present time, there is no Narnia 4 film yet (even a development, production, cast, script, etc are still in scratch). There are many disagreements between two parties: Doulgas Gresham wants to make The Silver Chair next but Walden Media wants The Magician's Nephew next. So here's my opinion on which book they should adapt and film next.

Differences between the books and films

Image
As all other book/comic based movies do, Narnia is no exception to have a different storyline, theme, etc from the book. Here is my overview about the differences of Narnia between the books and the films.

The Box Office History of The Chronicles of Narnia

Image
Box Office records of the first trilogy: “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” was brought to life to the big screen last 2005 by Walden Media and Buena Vista pictures and it was a great success being one of the block-buster films of 2005. “Prince Caspian” was also brought to life to the big screen last 2008, with the same production team, Walden Media and Buena Vista pictures. Both of the first two films were directed by Andrew Adamson. The third film, “The Voyage of the Dawn Treader” almost didn’t make to the silver screen. This is because Buena Vista dropped the franchise due to the low box-office of “Prince Caspian”. But many thanks to 20 th Century Fox, for they saved the franchise. Because of this, “The Voyage of the Dawn Treader” was released last 2010 in breath-taking digital 3d by Walden Media and this time, with 20 th Century Fox. The third film was directed by Michael Apted.
