C.S. Lewis: 50 years of a living legacy

Today, November 22, 2013 is the day that C.S. Lewis  reaches his 50th death anniversary. This is the exact day when the former US president John F. Kennedy was assassinated. 50 years it's been but not like the other past authors, C.S. Lewis is still famous today (alongside with his friend J.R.R. Tolkien) and his legacy lives on. One of the main reasons of Lewis still being popular and known today in our generation is because of his most famous work, The Chronicles of Narnia which have been adapted to theater plays, audio-books, tv series and even in films. Narnia is also considered as one of the best books written for children of all time and a children's classic preferably The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, but as you read the Chronicles, you will also realize that there is more adventure and message than you ever thought when your parents used to read it to you. I would also like to add two more of his famous works, Mere Christianity and the Screwtape Letters. Not to mention that these 3 books of Lewis have been released in special edition books. Screwtape Letters is really a unique story in which it's setup is in a parallel universe and there's also a book written inspired by it while Mere Christianity is considered as one of the best Christian books ever written that every Christian must read! Also, to add to his famous works, it includes The Space Trilogy which is really underrated, The Great Divorce, Surprised by Joy and more!

This day, C.S. Lewis will be honoured with Poet's Corner Memorial

Adding to his legacy are the authors who were inspired by him and his writings for them to write for their own stories. Famous authors and books include: J.K. Rowling and the Harry Potter Series, Katherine Paterson and The Bridge to Terabithia, Neil Gaiman, Soman Chaichani, Tony Diterlizzi and many many more!

Many will remember C.S. Lewis today specially those who are close to him and those who are inspired by him. C.S. Lewis is dead for 50 years but his legacy will surely endure day by day inspiring Christians and readers in our generation and in the future generation.
